48 V lithium batteries for base stations and network nodes

The problem

Thousands of base stations, and lead dies quietly and without warning.

What we install

Rack batteries 48 V in 2U–5U, DC controller, remote fleet monitoring.

  • Batteries 48 V 50–300 Ah
  • Liquid cooling for hot climates
  • Fleet monitoring

Context

What drives the equipment selection

The telecom problem is not the individual battery but the scale: there are thousands of sites, every visit costs money, and the condition of a lead string becomes known at the moment it fails. The economics are calculated across the fleet, not per site.

Rack-mount lithium modules at 48/51.2 V solve three things: they last longer, they take less space in a constrained cabinet, and they report their own condition. For hot southern sites there are liquid-cooled designs that remove the main driver of degradation.

What we need for a calculation

  • Typical site configuration and available rack space
  • Required autonomy and the DC load
  • Site climate: hot, cold, heated or not
  • Existing monitoring system and its protocols

How we work

01

Engineering audit

We go through the specification and the site: load category, required autonomy, operating conditions, what is already installed.

02

Sizing and selection

We size the battery against the real discharge profile — not “with a margin, by eye”. You get 2–3 options with different economics.

03

Supply and commissioning

Delivery from stock or to order, installation, commissioning, training for your operations team.

04

Service and monitoring

Warranty and post-warranty service, remote condition monitoring, replacements scheduled on actual condition.

Q & A

Frequently asked questions

Which 48 V designs are available?

Rack modules 2U–5U high, from 50 to 300 Ah, air and liquid cooled, some with an integrated DC controller. Operating voltage range 42–58 V.

How is monitoring organised across a large fleet?

The BMS at each site publishes data into your system over standard protocols; on top of that we are building a fleet-monitoring layer with a digital product logbook and replacement planning based on actual condition.
